How consultations are run
Four things that stay consistent from one appointment to the next, whatever the reason for the visit.
Listen first, examine second
A consultation starts with your account of what is happening — when it began, how it has changed, what you have already tried. Examination and tests follow from that, rather than replacing it.
Explain the reasoning, not just the plan
You should leave knowing why a medicine, test or referral has been suggested, and what would change if the result came back differently. A plan you understand is one you can actually follow.
Investigate with purpose
Tests are advised when the result will change what happens next. Long panels of investigations are expensive and often add uncertainty rather than removing it.
Whichever language is easier
Consultations happen in Hindi or English, whichever you are more comfortable in. Medical terms are translated into ordinary words as a matter of course.
Philosophy of care
Women's health is not a series of unrelated episodes
A teenager with painful periods, a woman trying to conceive, someone managing fibroids at forty and someone navigating menopause at fifty are often the same person at different points. Care works better when it is read as one continuous history rather than a set of separate complaints.
That is the reasoning behind how this clinic is organised: one doctor, records that carry forward, and enough time in each appointment to connect what is happening now to what came before.
It also means staying with you when care moves elsewhere. Consultations, planning and follow-up happen at the clinic; scans are done at a partner diagnostic centre nearby; and where surgery or delivery is needed, it takes place at a leading hospital in the area with Dr. Ghoniya carrying out the operation herself. You are not handed to a surgeon you have never met.

What a first consultation involves
Expect the first appointment to be mostly conversation. You will be asked about your symptoms, your cycles, previous pregnancies where relevant, any ongoing conditions and medicines, and what has already been investigated. If you have old reports, bring them — even ones you think are out of date.
An examination is carried out where it will add something, and it is explained before it happens. You can decline, ask for it to be done at a later visit, or ask for someone to be present.
You will leave with a written plan: what to take, what to have done, when to return, and which symptoms mean you should not wait for the next appointment.
